Two $2.4 million bids take joint lead in tender for number portability in Panama
Panama’s Public Services Authority opened the bids on the contract for technical support on the portability of phone numbers. The contract has been estimated at $3 million.
Four bids were received. Porting Access offered $2.4 million, as did Teletech. Telecordia offered $2.9 million, and Spain’s Informática El Corte Inglés offered $3.6 million.
A decision on the tender is due within a fortnight. The choice of the winner will be decided not only on price but on technical considerations.
