Two groups left in the running for the Panama metro

The Linea 1 consortium, consisting of Spain’s FCC and Brazil’s Odebrecht, faces the Italian consortium Metro Panama are the only two runners remaining in the race for the first line of Panama’s metro system.
 
Both groups met the requirements of the tender terms, including a $30 million deposit. Now they have to wait 45 days for the findings of a commission to evaluate the bids.
 
Earlier, the CIMA consortium announced its withdrawal from the bidding, on the grounds that it failed to meet the deadline. CIMA included Japan’s Mitsubishi, Mexico’s ICA and Spain’s Acciona Infraestructura.
