U.S. West coast prepare for Panama Canal expansion

Monday, June 30, 2014

Ports on the U.S. West coast are hurrying to get ready when the Panama Canal expansion project is finished and begins to operate.

The ports are working in an attempt to avoid becoming superfluous, as much larger ships will be able to sail to the U.S. East coast.

Ports such as Seattle and Tacoma are spending billions to be ready to receive the larger ships and keep themselves competitive.
