Unemployment remains a challenge for Nicaragua

A Cid Gallup poll revealed that less Nicaraguan consider unemployment to be a problem, despite the official unemployment rate growing in the past months.

In May, 28 percent of Nicaraguans thought unemployment was an issue, compared with 34 percent in January.

But in the first quarter this year, unemployment was up 7.5 percent compared with the same period last year, the central bank said.
