United States and private sector to invest $13 million to repair Guatemalan schools

The government of the United States and Guatemala’s private sector are to invest $13.14 million in repairs and equipment for schools and health centers that were damaged by natural disasters last year.

The US donated $4.38 million to help recovery from tropical storm Agatha and the eruption of the Pacaya volcano. In addition, businesses in Guatemala are contributing $8.76 million for the refurbishment of 171 schools.
