United States gives $10 million to combat poverty and hunger in Nicaragua

The government of the United States approved $10 million in Nicaragua as part of a new program to fight hunger in 20 poor countries.

The US ambassador, Robert Callahan, explained that the funds will be used to raise the productive capacities of poor families in Nicaragua.

Callahan added that hunger unfortunately affects children in mainly rural areas, where the focus of the aid will be centered.
