Urgent summit called on disaster aid

Central American presidents are to meet soon in El Salvador in order to analyze the aid proposals made by the international community in the wake of the disaster caused by recent heavy rainfall.

The summit is likely to be held next week in San Salvador, said the Salvadoran Foreign ministry.

The meeting is being promoted by El Salvador's president, Mauricio Funes, who is the current chairman of the Central American Integration System.
