US Congress approves $15 million in aid for flood damage in El Salvador

The US Congress approved $15 million in extraordinary aid for El Salvador for the reconstruction of public works hit by heavy rains in El Salvador, said Salvadoran foreign minister Hugo Martínez.

 

Martínez said the funds will be used for projects such as highways and bridges that were affected by floods from hurricane Ida that caused 200 deaths last November.

 

Martínez said that the money would be disbursed directly by the ministry of Public Works.
