US-Mexico gas pipeline finally opens

The heralded US-Mexico cross-border marine pipeline entered commercial operation on Tuesday following months of delays and tense contract negotiations with the Mexican power utility, opening a valve to send as much as 2.6 billion cubic feet a day of natural gas from southern Texas to Mexico.
In future, the pipeline will supply Central America through interconnected pipelines under construction, Natural Gas Intelligence reports.
