US threat puts pressure on El Salvador over crisis

A constitutional crisis that has created two groups of rival judges in contention for El Salvador's Supreme Court, has economic consequences, said Mario Rubio, Republican senator in Florida.

"It is a matter of concern for any investor, not only American, to invest in a country where the constitutional order is violated," said Rubio.

The United States has called for a prompt solution to the conflict, while Republican leaders in the Senate have asked to analyze funding from the Millennium account as a means to put pressure and reach a solution.
