Venezuela breaks diplomatic ties with Panama

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro cut diplomatic relations with Panama.

Maduro accused the Panamanian government of being a 'lackey' to the U.S. government in a conspiracy against his government.

Bilateral trade was also suspended, in an effort to protect the sovereignty of Venezuela, Maduro said.
