Viability of Colombia-Panama power link to be tested

The project to connect the electricity systems of Colombia and Panama will be put to the test in the following weeks.

In theory, the connection will offer Panama, and the rest of Central America, cheaper electricity prices than the ones currently offered in the region.

Two auctions, by Colombia's Sociedad Interconexión Eléctrica and Panama's Etesa, will measure the interest of the possible buyers and sellers of the system.
