Billions of dollars invested in mining and energy projects are at risk from irregular armed criminal groups in Honduras, according to the Cohep leading business organization.
"The police, despite our many complaints, have singularly failed to fulfill their constitutional duty of preserving public order," an executive from the Italian group Progelsa said at a press conference.
Progelsa, which is one of the victims of the attacks, has invested $56 million in Honduras and generates 400 direct jobs.
