Volume of business on Panama's stock market rose by 27 percent to $3.7 billion

The volume of business in Panama's stock exchange came to $3.36 billion last year, an increase of 27.5 percent on 2010.

Of the total $1.38 billion was placed in corporate bonds, while government paper came to $1.24 billion, of which the $395 million for the southern ring road concession was outstanding.

Issues of short-term paper came to $365 million.
