Wage bill absorbs half of state spending in El Salvador

The wage bill for government employs amounts to about half of all the spending of the State of El Salvador and the trend is toward yet more increases.

A study by the Interamerican Development Bank shows that El Salvador proportionately spend more on its bureacrats than those of any other Central American country, yet its economic performance has been worse than any of them.
