Wal-Mart de Mexico registers December same-store sales increase of 3.7 percent
Retail leader Wal-Mart de Mexico said it finished 2010 strong, with sales at stores that have been open at least a year up 3.7 percent last month from December 2009.
Total sales at Walmex's 2,279 stores in Mexico and Central America jumped 25 percent in December from a year earlier to $3.53 billion.
For all of 2010, Walmex's same-store sales rose 3.2 percent, while total sales surged 24 percent. The latter figure was boosted by Walmex's incorporation of parent company Wal-Mart Stores Central American units early last year.
