Wal-Mart to use meat processed in Guatemala for its supermarkets in El Salvador

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Wal-Mart is currently investing $6 million in the 2008-2010 extension of its meat-processing plant in Guatemala. The next stage will be exports.

From next year, the company will launch exports of up to three containers a week of meat to El Salvador, each of them with 10,000 pounds.

The aim is to supply half of all the meat sold by Wal-Mart stores in El Salvador.
