Walmart hits $7.2 billion sales in second quarter

Latin America's largest retailer, Walmart de México y Centroamérica, reported sales of up to $7.2 billion during the second quarter of the year, an 11.9 percent growth compared to the same period last year.

During the same period, the company opened 51 shops and restaurants in Mexico, while in Central America, it opened two warehouses and three discount stores.

"We realize that improving our operations in Central America will take time, but we are convinced that our strategies and ability to do business will bring good results" said, the company's director, Scot Rank.
