With launch of new iPhone, Costa Rica faces three-way contest in cell phone market

The launch of Apple products has always been shrouded in mystery, and Costa Rica is no exception as the IPhone 4S is due to be unveiled to the public tomorrow.

The launch will be conducted simultaneously by the three main cellular brands: Kölbi of the state-owned ICE; Claro which belongs to Mexico's América Móvil; and Movistar of Spain's Telefónica.

All three companies have high hopes in what will be the first time in which they have completed for the same product since the state monopoly was removed.
