Central America has reversed the traditional gap between wages of men and women. Now, women are earning more than 3 percent on average than men.
A World Bank study shows that women also have higher educational levels than men in the region.
Renos Vakis, author of the study, said that a decade ago, men’s wages were 15 percent more than those of women. “Now that has all changed. Women are the ones who earn more.”
