The World Bank has named Humberto López, from Spain, as its new director for Central America.
"One of López's priorities is to lead a unit dedicated to reduce extreme poverty in the region," said Jorge Familiar, the bank's vice president for Latin American and the Caribbean.
The program will contribute towards regional integration, he added.
