World Bank sets $5 billion kick-start for integration

The World Bank pledged a $5 billion package of initiatives to support the integration of Central America.
 
The plan was announced by the bank’s president, Robert Zoellick, at the extraordinary summit in San Salvador of the System for Central American Integration.
 
Projects include social and economic development, security, climate change and natural disasters, as well as the stability of institutions and the rule of law.
