World economic woes hit Panama logistics industry

The recession in the international economy has severely affected Panama’s once buoyant logistics and transport industry.

Official figures show that in the first helf of the year, container movements dropped by 12 percent in the nation’s ports. Income from Canal tolls fell by 4.5 percent and the volume of cargo by almost 15 percent.
