World sugar market will be over-supplied
Friday, October 28, 2011
The International Sugar Organization has forecast a 4.2 million tons surplus in 2011-2012, up from a surplus of 843,000 tons last year. Despite record production of sugar, high costs are resulting in higher prices.
In its quarterly report, the sugar organization reckons that world sugar production will grow by 4 percent year-on-year.
