Shopping malls in Costa Rica in danger of extinction

Shopping malls in Costa Rica are becoming an endangered species amid the rise of “lifestyle centers”, small plazas and mixed-use facilities.
On average, for every mall being planned, at least five are about to emerge under the more modern formats, according to Colliers International.
In fact currently not one single mall is on the drawing board or under construction in Costa Rica at the moment, Colliers says.
